It’s time I shared with you a product I’ve been using for a while now in a product review : Vital Proteins Bone Broth Collagen. Embrace it’s multiple benefits as your ticket to effortless immune building throughout a hectic holiday season, just when we need it most. Crystal like powder dissolves easily and quickly in hot water making it convenient and efficient. Rarely does convenience, deliciousness and nourishing come together in one package…but here you go. If making bone broth from scratch is not your thing, or if it is your thing and you need some back up for when your supply runs dry…this is a great product to have stored in your pantry for the winter months.
Vital Proteins Bone Broth Collagen is the first USDA Organic bone broth powder and is Whole30 Approved, MSG free, and low in sodium. It contains one simple ingredient that eliminates preparing time-consuming bone broth at home. Supplementing our diets with this nourishing bone broth collagen aids in digestion, promotes a healthy immune system, supports joint and ligament health and generally improves overall good health. I appreciate it’s versatility; it is clean, tasteless, dissolves easily and absorbs quickly.
The USDA organic beef bone broth is crafted with bones from grass-fed, pasture-raised cows and is simmered slowly to extract maximum nutrients. And the USDA organic chicken bone broth is crafted with bones from free-range chickens and is simmered slowly to extract maximum nutrients.
Take note that these have a neutral flavor, so they need added seasoning when used. It’s not like bouillon where there is added salt and flavorings. This is good, real, clean food that fortifies soups, stews and main dishes, enriching your food with added collagen. Here’s how I’ve been using it-
- Stir into hot water, season to taste with sea salt, pepper, garlic, ginger, and turmeric.
- I add it to stews, soups, or sauces (hello…thanksgiving gravy)
- Layer it in a quart mason jar with sea salt, garlic, ginger, leftover cooked protein, zoodles, spinach, sliced jalapeno, finely ground dried shitake mushroom powder. Take it to go and when ready to eat just and boiling water and let steep 5 minutes. Delish!
- But my favorite application is…to add it to sautéed or braised vegetables right at the end of cooking with a splash of water, stir, cover and let dissolve and steam into veggies for a hot minute right before serving. Tasted like they were cooked in butter-but they weren’t.
Both the beef and chicken come in two sizes; 10 oz containers, or stick packs of 20 /0.35 oz. The stick packs are an excellent choice for travel. For more info visit their website here and while you’re there checkout their blog for more recipes. Bonus: they offer free shipping on all U.S. orders.
Let’s have a healthy holiday season my friends!
