Rich and creamy hot cocoa is a must when temps are dropping to single digits. In the spirit of the season we had our little grandkids in for a Christmas overnight complete with crafts, movies and festive food. That includes hot cocoa.
Someone couldn’t wait to craft…..
I had been dreaming about a flavorful hot chocolate made with DIY Almond Milk and sweetened with dates.
I whipped it up in my Vita-Mix for these little rascals. They loved it and so did their mama’s.
It’s quick and easy – hardly worth blogging about but if you’re up for sledding, making a snowman, or cuddling up for a good Christmas movie with popcorn, this is a must for bringing holiday cheer. I added a pinch of cinnamon also as an option. With or without it is delicious!
Try it once and you’ll be hooked.
2 cups DIY Almond Milk
3 – 4 pitted dates
2 tablespoons Dagoba cocoa
pinch sea salt
1 teaspoon natural vanilla
pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Place almond milk, dates, cocoa and a pinch of sea salt and cinnamon (if using) in a blender. Turn gradually on high and blend until smooth. Pour into a saucepan and heat. Add vanilla and serve hot.
How easy is that?
For these little ones 2 cups was divided by 3 and they downed it.
