Last Sunday my daughter and I made 26 meals for the freezer. A young mom of 2 and working part-time, she wanted to be better prepared for dinnertime. I’m always game for that, so we joined forces, rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
What did we make? Two tried and true recipes and 2 new recipes. We prepared both previously posted recipes, Garden Vegetable Lasagne using fresh Swiss chard and Chicken Pot Pies .
We are experimenting by making a smaller quantity of Broccoli Quiche and Cardamom Chicken.
After all was said and done, we spent 5 1/2 hours, which includes shopping and food preparation. According to my calculations each meal feeding 4 people costs us under $6.00. We each have 13 meals in our freezer.
Now that was a day well spent!
